Independent skateboards · Portland, Oregon

No big brand. Just us, trying to build long‑lasting boards with beautiful, sick graphics, while giving back and making more places to skate.

Decks

Photo graphics from places nobody’s looking after

Every deck has to pass three tests

  • Good pop
  • Medium concave
  • Built to last

If it doesn’t, we don’t sell it.

Two skaters. One junkyard.

Junkyard started in Portland with a skateboarder who wanted to make his own decks and a dad who thought it sounded like a pretty great idea.

We’re building it together. Starting with decks we’d actually want to ride.

More places to skate.

Nice parks end up in rich neighborhoods. Everywhere else gets a cracked slab, or nothing. We want to build public DIY spots where they’re missing, starting in Portland.

Nobody should have to push an hour to skate.

Our plans
  • Build free, public DIY spots in neighborhoods that don’t have good parks.
  • Do it right: with permission, a plan, and the people who live there.
  • Put on community sessions and events.
  • Keep sensitive spots off the internet.

You’ll see projects here first.

Get on the drop list.

New decks first, plus the occasional clip. We’ll only email you about Junkyard.
